Junior Varsity/Varsity Summer Season (JV goes from age 5 - 11
however if a child turns 12 after Jan 1st they still can play JV) (kids born in
1999 and beyond can play JV this year). Varsity goes from age 12 to 16
but if a child turns 17 after Jan 1st, they can still play varsity (kids born
in 1994 & later are eligible)
Within the junior league there are to age groups due to size and
experience: Junior, which ranges from 5-12yo and Varsity, which ranges from
12-17yo. Coaches are responsible for placement within the team.
$40 per player and any additional immediate family members can
join for $25 (includes rink use, maintenance, trophies and refs)
Payment to be paid in full before 1st game of season to the junior league
organizer.
This is a play at your own risk league. The league (HSHL) it officers and the City of
Hazleton will not be responsible for any injury incurred during practice or
games.
Each child will be required to have the minimum equipment in order
to play (hockey helmet with full face guard, gloves, shin/knee pads, stick).
Games are played on Mondays, Wednesday and Friday
beginning at 6:00pm
The number of games is based on the amount of teams we have that
season.
We use a ball instead of puck.
3 running clock periods.
